About Me — Umair Mubeen

I'm Umair Mubeen, a Pakistan tax educator and content creator based in Karachi. I started TaxBuddy Umair because I kept seeing the same thing: ordinary people — salaried employees, small business owners, freelancers, and students — struggling to understand tax rules that are written in dense legal language. Most of them couldn't afford a consultant just to answer a basic question. I wanted to close that gap.

Through this platform I've spent years turning Pakistan's tax law — the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and every year's Finance Act — into plain-language guides, free calculators, and worked examples that an everyday taxpayer can actually use. The goal is simple: help you understand what you owe, why you owe it, and how to file it correctly on the FBR IRIS portal.

I run TaxBuddy Umair independently. The educational content here is, and will remain, free. I also offer optional paid services — return filing, NTN registration, and FBR notice handling — for people who'd rather have it done for them, but you never need to pay anything to use the guides, calculators, or MCQs on this site.

📋 How This Content Is Created

Accuracy matters more than anything on a tax website, so every guide and calculator on TaxBuddy Umair is built directly from primary sources:

• Content is based on the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 and the Sales Tax Act, 1990, with the relevant section cited wherever possible.
• Rates and slabs follow the latest Finance Act and official FBR notifications, SROs, and rate cards.
• Calculators use the FBR-notified slabs for the selected tax year — not estimates.
• Guides are reviewed and updated when FBR issues changes, and carry an "updated" date so you know how current they are.
